Progress & Process

3D Logo Design

Project 1

For our first project in 3D Graphics, we took an already existing 2D logo and made it 3D. We started by identifying issues, causes, and areas of interest that we are passionate about. Then we reflected and wrote about why one particular area is personally significant. We then researched organizations or businesses that are connected to and support one or more of those areas we selected. Acting as graphic designers doing volunteer work to support a meaningful cause, we redesigned their already existing 2D logo as a 3D graphic - free of charge!

In order to complete the construction of a newly created 3D graphic, we used skills we learned to build the submarine exercise, which included primitive shapes, splines, shape expanders, and shape deformers.  Lastly, we learned how to add color, materials, and lighting to make the new logo more contemporary.

the nation’s relationship with science and technology.

Custom 3D Logo Development

After I finished my first logo, I deigned my own logo for Galacticon Space Travel. I got way farther into the program's intricacies and effects.

Project 2

Snow Globe & Cuckoo Clock

For our second large project, we were given a choice between making a scooter, a snow globe, and a cuckoo clock. For the first of 2, I chose to make a snow globe.

I had inspiration from a game called Hollow Knight. I decided to make the main character standing in some glowing plants.

While making this model. I learned to use the "boole" tool to subtract from shapes along with the pen and extrude tools to make custom shapes.

This cuckoo clock was inspired by the Legendary Sand Bird from Super Mario Sunshine. I decided that the bird should be carrying the clock, which would have smaller birds coming out of it.

Project 3

Gratitude Gift

For our third project, we made a 3D printable gift for someone we are thankful for. I made a gift for a friend of mine. I reimagined a character that he came up with in 3D, and implemented a part from a game that we both enjoy, Super Smash Brothers.

Project 4

Infinity & Obliteration

For our fourth and final project, we created spaces based on works by artist Yayoi Kusama.

One of the two spaces was supposed to recreate the feeling of wanting to hold onto a moment forever, the other was meant to recreate the feeling of wanting to break a moment into a million pieces and scatter them into the void.

Museum Of Science 3D Logo Development

When I was making the 3D adaptation of the logo, I started out by just making the 2D logo popping out of a square. Because that took so little time, I decided to add some more stuff.
